The entire country rejoiced as the news of Sooryavanshi’s release date, arguably the most anticipated Indian movie yet to release over the past two years (due to COVID-19), trickled in. But even as Director Rohit Shetty made us all look forward to 30th April will renewed excitement, another Akshay Kumar starrer is facing the heat of Sooryavanshi as sources reveal that both its makers, and even the same leading man, are in a fix over what to do with their predesignated release date. We’re referring to Akshay Kumar’s Bell Bottom, which has been scheduled to hit screens on 28th May, making its release a bit too close for comfort to Sooryavanshi

A well-respected source, highly placed in the film industry’s distribution network, has exclusively revealed to BollywoodLife that Akshay Kumar and producer Jackky Bhagnani now face the dilemma of releasing Bell Bottom less than a month after Sooryavanshi or postpone it and find a new release window in a calendar that’s already become backed by several big-name as also other eagerly awaited mid-budget Bollywood movies. Our source further hints at Akshay probably convincing Jackky Bhagnani to go for the latter option as even a superstar as himself, who’s accustomed to three, sometimes four releases in a year, wouldn’t want another film of his arriving so quickly on the heels of a previous one. It also seems that Rohit Shetty decided on Sooryavanshi’s release date all on his own.

Our source adds that Sooryavanshi is a much-bigger release and has been building buzz for over a year since its trailer dropped, plus, belongs to an immensely successful universe, boasting blockbusters like Singham and Simmba, and as such Akshay Kumar feels that the audience wouldn’t be too keen on buying tickets for another of his releases during the time of summer vacations, when families plan their outings well in advance. Believing that Sooryavanshi will make a strong impressions, he feels that Bell Bottom arriving so soon would be overkill for him as an actor, and hence, may see postponing the latter as the only option.
