Virat Kohli’s Royal Challengers Bangalore crumbled against Delhi Capitals as the team endured a 59-run crushing defeat in the Indian Premier League clash on Monday. After being asked to bat first, Delhi Capitals posted a mammoth 196/4 on the board, with Marcus Stoinis emerging as the leading scorer. The Aussie remained unbeaten on 53 from 26 balls. Prithvi Shaw and Rishabh Pant too showed some power as the duo scored 42 (23) and 37 (25) respectively.
In response, RCB got off to a poor start losing in-form Devdutt Padikkal, Aaron Finch and AB de Villiers inside the powerplay overs. Kohli hung around in the middle but he too couldn’t make any impact as he send packing on 43 by Kagiso Rabada. The South African pacer finished the contest with four wickets from four overs. With this win, the Shreyas Iyer-led Delhi unit have climbed to the top of the points table.
