Deepika Padukone has reportedly tested positive for COVID-19 and is currently in Bangalore with her family. Her father Prakash Padukone was also hospitalized due to COVId-19, and is now recovering. While mother Ujjala and sister Anisha have also been infected by the virus, they are quarantining at home.
While Deepika hasn’t issued an official statement, the news of her father’s hospitalization was confirmed by Prakash’s friend Vimal Kumar said to PTI, “Around 10 days back, Prakash, his wife (Ujjala) and second daughter (Anisha), they developed symptoms and got themselves tested and the results came out to be positive He is okay now. All his parameters are fine, his wife and daughter are at home and he too will be hopefully discharged in 2-3 days.” Deepika and husband Ranveer Singh were spotted at the Mumbai airport on their way to Bangalore to spend time with Deepika’s parents.
The actor recently shared a post on Instagram listing out mental health resources while reiterating the importance of keeping mental health in check especially during the pandemic. “As millions of us (me and my family included) strive to stay afloat, let us not forget that our emotional well-being in this current crisis, is equally important! Remember, You Are Not Alone. We are in this Together. And most importantly, there is Hope!” she captioned it.
On the work front, she has multiple projects lined up. She will next appear in Kabir Khan’s sports drama 83 along side Ranveer Singh. She will play the role of Kapil Dev’s wife Romi and Ranveer will be seen as the legendary cricketer. She also stars in Pathan, and Fighter. The Indian adaptation of The Intern features Deepika and Amitabh Bachchan who replaced Late Rishi Kapoor in the film.
